North Port High School is composed of 2300 students and 130 faculty on a spacious open campus. A high quality faculty helps each student discover his or her talents through assorted academics and richly diverse extracurricular programs.

The North Port High School Collegiate Academy is an educational opportunity for NPHS students to earn up to two years of college credit while simultaneously earning a high school diploma from North Port High School.  During this accelerated college program, high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors will take Dual Enrollment and/or Advanced Placement courses on the North Port High School campus.  These courses will satisfy the requirements for both the high school diploma and freshman and sophomore years of college.

STEM Grant at NPHS! (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) North Port High School is fortunate to participate in a multi-year grant with the Gulfcoast Community Foundation of Venice to emphasize Science, Technology, Engineering and Math at the school. Two programs that will develop from this grant are an engineering academy (fall 2011) and a medical academy (fall 2012). Students at the school will benefit from additional equipment and resources designed to identify student talent and to emphasize high achievement in math and science coursework.

NPHS is home to the 1,025 seat North Port Performing Arts center, which provides a spacious for our amazing theatre performances and wonderful arts programs, which include; Photography Darkroom, Ceramics Studio and Kilns, Electronic Piano Lab, a Video Editing Studio and a Dance Studio.  Other school features are 10 Computer Labs, 34 Laptop Carts, Career Lab, 5,000 Seat Football Stadium, Wrestling Room, Weight Room, Construction Shop, 2 Drafting Labs, State of the Art Media Collection, Culinary Arts Industrial Kitchen, 1,500 Seat Gymnasium, 16 Science Labs, and an Indoor/Outdoor Cafe

To foster a strong sense of belonging, each freshman class participates in an orientation program prior to entering high school.  Students participate in team building activities with an upper class mentor to facilitate and understanding of how to become successful students and gain comfort in their new environment.  Students are also grouped into advisories that meet once a week and they stay with that group of classmates and teacher/mentor throughout their four years at NPHS.  Class spirit is reinforced through advisory and various activities throughout the year, such as, powder puff, clash of the classes, class spirit day, homecoming and prom.  Lasting friendships are also forged in extracurricular activities, such as performing arts, ROTC, athletics, and club activities.
